PEARLS OF ARMENIA
According to biblical legend, Noah came down from Mount Ararat, planted the first vine. Thus began the tradition of wine making in Armenia. And recently in a cave near the village of Areni the archeologists have found the oldest wine-growing areas, dated back more than 6000 years. Development of wine-making in Armenia became possible due to favorable natural conditions, the availability of technologically advanced indigenous grape varieties and a thousand-year experience of winemakers. The current wine production in Armenia combines this experience and tradition, as well as new high-tech processes. In recent years, new cutting-edge factories have emerged in Armenia. And we invite all fans and lovers of this noble and very useful drink to make a trip to the best wineries and small domestic wineries. Well, what kind of wine without feasts!
Day 1 In The Heart Of «Pink Town»
Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting at the airport, transfer to hotel. After a short rest we’ll go to a wine bar, where we’ll have to wait for a wine tasting and dinner. Then, walk in the evening Yerevan (Republic Square, Singing Fountains, Cascade, an observation desk with panoramic views of the city).
Day 2 In The Staps Of Gregory The Illuminator
Khor Virap — Noravank — Areni
Check-in located at the foot of Mount Ararat Khor Virap, which is known for the fact that here the first Catholicos of All Armenians Gregory the Illuminator have spent many years in prison.
Further our path lies on one of the most beautiful monasteries of Armenia — Noravank, surrounded by steep red cliffs. After that, we are waiting for lunch in a restaurant, which is located in a cave. After lunch, we’ll visit the Areni cave complex where archaeologists have found the oldest winery building in the world, as well as shoes, dating back more than 6000 years.
After seeing the cave, we’ll go to the local wineries that will offer you different varieties of fruit wines: raspberry, blackberry, pomegranate, cherry and others.
Next, we are waiting for tasting local wine factory, which is one of the largest wine producers in Armenia.

Day 3 Stone Lake
Saghmosavank — Ovanavank — Amberd — ArmeniaWine
We leave in the direction of the highest mountains of Armenia — Aragats. Along the way, we’ll make a stop near the monasteries Saghmosavank and Ovanavank. Then we’ll go up to a height of 3000 m, where the fortress of Amberd is situated and then even higher to an altitude of 3300 m to the beautiful Kari Lich ( «Stone Lake»).
After this, we’ll participate in a master class cooking Armenian food Khapama (pumpkin stuffed with rice and dried fruit) as well as the traditional Armenian barbecue.
After enjoying a dinner, it’s time to try new Armenian wines. We’ll visit the ultramodern plant Armenia Wine, where we’ll degust 4 varieties of wine.
Return to Yerevan.
Day 4 The Pearl Of Armenia
Sevan — Dilijan — Ijevan
We go to Lake Sevan — the blue pearl of Armenia, where one of the oldest monasteries of Armenia — Sevanavanq is situated..
Next, we go to Dilijan which is surrounded by dense forest. There we’ll take a walk through the old town, visit the monastery complex Haghartsin and have a lunch in the Eastern Armenian restaurant.
After that we’ll go to an excursion to Ijevan wine factory, where we’ll try 8 varietiesof wine, two of which are bottled up in 1977 and 1982, as well as 20-year-old Armenian cognac.
Return to Yerevan.
Day 5 Ruins Of The Zvartnots Temple
Garni — Geghard — Zvartnots — Marani
After breakfast, we go to the village of Garni, which is the only survived monument in Armenia belonging to the era of paganism and Hellenism.
After there will be walk through the gorge, where you’ll see a small miracle of nature called «stone symphony».
Departure to Geghard monastery complex — a unique architectural structure, part of which is carved into the rock. Then you and I will take a direct part in Armenian bread lavash baking and tasty lunch visiting locals. Traditionally, in the afternoon we’lll wait for a wine tasting. This time we’ll go to the factory Maran, where we’ll try a large number of red, white and fruit wines.
On the way back we’ll stop at the ruins of the ancient temple of Zvartnots, which was destroyed by a strong earthquake at the end of the last millennium.
Return to Yerevan.
Day 6 Ancient Capital
After we’ll have to wait for a sightseeing tour in Yerevan, during which we’ll visit the Historical Museum, the Museum of Ancient Manuscripts, and Erebuni Museum, located on the hill of Arin-Berd, where you’ll see old Yerevan.
Well, what a wine tour without a real Armenian brandy. We’ll visit Yerevan Brandy Factory, where we’ll learn about all the secrets of the production of Armenian brandy. We’ll also degust the most famous brands of cognac in the Yerevan cognac factory which is famous in the world.
In the evening we will have to wait for an excursion to the plant for the production of ancient Armenian carpets and old Armenian dishes for dinner.
Day 7 Departure Home
Transfer to Airport
Before leaving for the airport, we’ll visit the popular open-air market «Vernissage». In the market you can buy any souvenirs and gifts for your friends. Farewell to new friends and transfer to the airport.
