Dilijan National Park
Dilijan National Park is a unique site of Armenia’s wildlife, which stands out by the wealth of original biodiversity, mezophile woodlands, separate ecosystems of scientific, educational and economic interest, as well as by its patrimonial, environmental, cognitive, curative and recreational assets. Dilijan National Park is situated on the northern side of the Republic, on the mountainside of Pambak, Aregouni, Miapor ranges, halfway between Aghestev and Getik rivers watersheds, 1000-2200m above sea level.
The park area is divided into 3 territorial-functional zones: protected area, recreational zone and economic section. Any activity susceptible to impair natural ecosystems equilibrium or put at risk the survival of monuments of scientific and cultural interest is prohibited in the protected area. Human activities here are confined to scientific research and tourism. Environmental activities and those associated with the use of natural resources in full conformity with park protection requirements are allowed in the recreational and economic zones of the park.
