«Yarkhushta» -dance of strong spirit
Yarxushta — Armenian traditional dance. Despite its ancient history, it has hardly changed and continues to be one of the most common dances, along with kochari, shalaho, lorke and others. The military dance «Yarkhusta» is a musical, playful and verbal performance, which refers to the kind of dancing «tsap» (Armenian — «to clap»).
The dance of the » tsap «is one of the ancient military dances, which include » Tak Yarkhusta «,» Slivani Yarushta «,» Khazani Yarushta «and others.» In them, the main movements are accentuated by blows on the palms of the partner, allegedly replacing weapons and in an original way imitating their ringing with their blow.
In the dances «Tsap» there are two types of execution of blows — one and two hands. During dances, when partners slap with one hand, one side becomes an attacker, and the other — a defensive one. In the event that they slam with both hands, the opposing sides attack, fight and defend at the same time.
